Ultraviolet radiation, temperature and humidity are the factors that increase material degradation. With our wide range of testing facilities we can simulate those environmental testing according international testing standards or individual needs of the customer. UV light exposure and climatic testing create aggressive condition using special chambers in order to accelerate ageing processes and measure its effects for materials and products.

UV Exposure

UV EXPOSURE can cause damage to various materials and impact their performance. The biggest factor in determining the harmful UV light is the amount of exposure. Colour change, delamination, fading, yellowing, cracking, peeling, brittleness and loss of strength can all occur under UV exposure. The purpose of tests is to determine if exposure of particular materials to radiation over an extended period of time causes any degradation in their properties.

It is important to determine the UV resistivity of paints that are applied on building facades, since they are constantly exposed to sunlight. This helps manufacturers to modify, if necessary, the chemical composition used in their products. The test enables manufacturers to improve the product quality increasing its level of UV resistance. UV tests helps to determine the colour fastness of textile, plastic and paper products. Our specialists perform glass durability tests and evaluate the resistance of polymeric products against UV exposure due to determine light impact for polymer and plastic materials, identify their critical properties.

Climatic Tests

CLIMATIC TESTS simulate an impact of real time ageing over shorter time and allow the manufacturer to predict the real time performance of the product or material. The test chambers are available for basic temperature and humidity tests to accelerated ageing testing in a variety of specimens’ sizes. Accelerated ageing testing includes temperature cycling tests (without humidity), temperature-humidity tests. Protechlab specifies test methods of durability for laminated glass and laminated safety glass for use in building and for building materials. We focus on determination of resistance to high temperature and humidity for these products. Laboratory operates testing of electronic components and composites.

Temperatures ranges are available from -72°C to +180°C and relative humidity testing capabilities from 5% to 97% above 25°C temperature. The maximum rate of temperature speed for thermal cycling testing is 7 K/min.

High Voltage Tests

HIGH VOLTAGE TESTS is designed for the detection of currents on electrical systems, equipment or insulating materials and for determination whether the insulation of a product is good. The tests help to find damaged insulation, stray wire strands, conductive or corrosive contaminants around the conductors and fractures in cables. We can serve customers in various industries including energy, transportation, communication infrastructures, educational institutions, electrical service and maintenance industries.

DSC Thermal Analysis

DIFFERENTIAL SCANNING CALORIMETRY is widely used for thermal analysis. It helps to determine specific heat capacity, enthalpies and various characteristics of temperatures such as melting peaks, inflection points, crystallization, glass transition. Temperatures ranges are available from -85°C to +600°C. Wide range of heating rates: 0.001 K/min to 200 K/min are also available.

Thermovision

THERMOVISION is a non-contact diagnostics technique that helps to inspect your machinery, electrical components, building, its specific parts, detect possible hazards even at an early stage and before some elements will cause a failure.

Thermovision is carried out in the private residential and commercial buildings, factories, block of flats. From the outside of the building the insulation defects (areas loosing most heat), are determined. From the inside of the building the thermal bridges (cold bridges) are determined. The analysis is carried out before and after building insulation, for determining if the building is properly insulated and isolated. It is recommended to perform thermovision inspections before planning to buy or sell the house or the flat. Thermovision are suitable for electrical and mechanical diagnostics, inspecting defective insulators and even difficult to access objects can be measured.
